It is almost spring. We are thinking about getting a dog/puppy. Today I picked up my first CSA (Consumer Supported Agriculture) box. Fresh, organic, local vegetables from less than 50 miles away. Needless to say vegetables are my new favorite food group.

We visited Del Rio Botanical, a CSA provider just a few miles away from downtown Sacramento with our friends a few weeks ago. I was sold. I feel like I have farm in my blood; or wish I did. Too bad I'm just two generations too late in my family.

I decided to go with a CSA box every other week from Full Belly Farm, around 50 miles away.

This is neat photo-documentation of a Fully Belly CSA box.

This week we received: fresh oregano, green garlic, mixed chard, mustard greens, carrots, asparagus, broccoli, and salad greens. I like new experiences.

T street
This is my new home in Sacramento. Note: the left upper residence and the "For Rent" sign
This is the apartment before I moved in. Note: its not messy yet
This is my boyfriend Michael. We graduated architecture school together.
Note: Snake enclosure on the left
I think I will consider this a photo blog, and less of a blog blog. My photos are better than my words anyways.

Wednesday Mud Day
Wednesday is usually a half day of work and the rest of the afternoon we spend on the San Juan River enjoying the coolth. This week however, I was covered in mud for approximately 90% of the time and only went into the river to wash off. Mud = fun, we have been waiting for this mud since week 1 (thank you rains of week 4 for providing the silt in the river for this extravagant adventure.

Hike take 5
Today was hike #5 up Rock Point, which I led alone. I also happened to be the first person to see the rattlesnake on our hike back, (yeah that's right, first in my life!)
I also painted everyone on my staff postcards with little love notes on them this past week.

Climbing Rock Point, trips #1-4
Every trip up to Rock Point has been quite memorable thus far. Its quite amazing how high you climb and how far you can see. I still don't understand how we are able to convince high schoolers that its cool to wake up at 4 AM their time at home (5 AM here) and hike for two hours. We must be very persuasive..
camera was on manual focus for the first trip up, lame
